MSF evacuates 150 patients due to repeated attacks on hospitals in Kherson
International medical organisation, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), has evacuated 150 patients from a hospital in Kherson, in the south of Ukraine, due to ongoing shelling. This was the second time MSF has had to evacuate patients from the same hospital in the past year as a result of attacks on the facility.

MSF: Immediate ceasefire is needed in Gaza to stop the bloodshed
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent more deaths in Gaza and allow desperately needed humanitarian supplies in.
Since Friday 27 October, the bombing by the Israeli forces has intensified to a degree not seen until now: northern Gaza is being razed to the ground, while the whole Strip is being hit and civilians have no place to take shelter.

Violence by armed groups has exacerbated the nutritional situation in Masisi territory
Since the beginning of the year, an average of 800 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition have been admitted each month for treatment to hospitals in Mweso and Masisi, almost double that of the previous year. This alarming situation is paradoxical given that Masisi territory, around 20 km northwest of the provincial capital, Goma, is renowned for its fertile green hills. The scene of armed conflict for years, Masisi territory has recently seen a resumption of armed clashes between the M23 movement, Congolese armed forces and various other armed groups, leading to many more people being displaced from their homes and worsening an already critical humanitarian situation.

"I decided to stay in my home because there is no safe place in Gaza"
Loay Harb is a nurse who has been working with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for the past 15 years in Gaza at our burns clinic. He is currently taking shelter in his home next to the MSF office in Gaza City with his family and children. Today, Loay, like many others, is without food, water or electricity. He shares in his own words the desperate situation on the ground.

Alarming water crisis in Adré puts refugees’ lives at risk
Access to safe drinking water in the camps at Adré, a border town in eastern Chad, remains far below acceptable standards, posing a grave threat to the health and wellbeing of around 200,000 Sudanese refugees. According to UNHCR estimates, average water availability across all camps in eastern Chad is less than six litres per person per day, well below the recommended emergency standard of 20 litres per person per day. MSF has set up 15 water collection points and dug five boreholes around the refugee camps, but these provide much less water than is needed.
