Round-table discussion on migration in Europe
On the occasion of presenting its new report on the impact of European migration policies, MSF invites you to participate in a round-table discussion with representatives of Luxembourg's political parties in the European Parliament. The round table will be moderated by Luxembourg journalist Patrick Bartz.
Take part in the round table on migration in Europe, organised by MSF on Thursday 30 May at 7pm at the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg.
Five representatives of Luxembourg's parties in the European Parliament have confirmed their participation in this public event:
- Marc Angel (LSAP)
- Nancy Braun (DP)
- Tilly Metz (Déi Gréng)
- Monica Semedo (Fokus)
- Isabel Wiseler-Lima (CSV)
Each of the participants will be able to express their views on the specific aspects of migration policy that have been part of their work during this legislative cycle.
These topics, which will drive the discussion, are part of the report drawn up by MSF "Death, despair and destitution: the human costs of the EU's migration policies" whose conclusions and recommendations will be presented by Umberto Pellecchia, anthropologist and specialist in migration issues at LuxOR, the Luxembourg Operational Research.
The document, which was presented to the European Parliament on 10 April, details what MSF teams observed directly during their humanitarian medical operations in 12 countries in Europe, Africa and the central Mediterranean between August 2021 and September 2023. The report also includes data from more than 28,000 emergency medical consultations, as well as testimonies from patients and medical teams.
The room is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The event will be held in French and English.
