On January 27, 2026, the Luxembourg section of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) brought together donors, volunteers, and supporters for its traditional New Year's reception.

To mark the New Year, MSF Luxembourg invited its donors, volunteers, and supporters to its offices on Rue de Gasperich to share its best wishes for 2026. This year is particularly special as it will mark the 40th anniversary of the Luxembourg section of MSF.

This convivial gathering provided an opportunity to discuss MSF's work and hear testimonials from our team on the theme: Health and Energy – Infrastructure Serving Care and Patients.

Among those present were Temmy Sunyoto, Senior Operational Research Advisor for LuxOR (MSF's Operational Research Unit in Luxembourg), Jean-François Vraux, Energy Specialist for the MSF Operational Center in Belgium, and Engy Ali, President of MSF Luxembourg.

A Year Marked by Crises

The President of MSF Luxembourg, Engy Ali, reflected on the year 2025, marked by crises and increasingly complex situations: constrained budgets, limited funding, and restricted humanitarian spaces. Despite everything, the President emphasized that Médecins Sans Frontières has remained – and will remain – by the side of patients, without discrimination, wherever the needs are most urgent.

This evening also provided an opportunity to announce that 2026 is a very special year, as the Luxembourg section of MSF celebrates its 40th anniversary. Forty years that remind us that the same challenges run through our history – preserving our neutrality, responding to immense needs – and that, from Luxembourg, solidarity has never known borders.

To mark this anniversary, MSF will be organizing several events, including La Grande Expo, a free immersive exhibition to discover the humanitarian profession, from March 16 to 29 in Neimënster. Discover the program and more information about MSF Luxembourg's 40th anniversary by clicking here.

Of course, our teams were able to warmly thank everyone who attended and all those who have supported and continue to support Doctors Without Borders. It is only thanks to you that we can continue to intervene wherever the situation demands it. We also thank the evening's speakers for their insightful presentations, which give full meaning to our work.

A huge THANK YOU again for your support. We hope to continue working alongside you in 2026!
