MSF mapathon with the Université Populaire du Luxembourg – THURSDAY, 6 JULY 2023
In 1 click, help us spread this information :
A mapathon is a collective cartography workshop: a group of people come together for a few hours to improve the mapping of a particular region. The event is accessible to all and will make it possible to directly support MSF’s operations in a given region by mapping roads, watercourses or the outlines of buildings, without including further details.
The maps created in this way will be an important tool for use in decision-making, planning, communication and support for MSF’s operations. Bringing together data from multiple information sources in the same map makes it possible for teams to assess the extent of an emergency, to plan logistics, to optimise epidemiological surveillance and to coordinate action with other organisations.
