Dr Ghazali Babiker, MSF's Sudan Country Representative, and his team in Khartoum donated supplies to a hospital that has received a large number of wounded since the fighting began on 15 April. This is the third donation we have been able to make since Sunday 23 April. However, while they were at the warehouse putting the supplies into the ambulance that would take them to the hospital, air strikes and shelling began, and they had to take cover until everything was finished. He narrates.

"Today, our team was trying to assess the situation and also the roads and to have access to different hospitals. When we were doing the donation, we wanted to join and accompany the MoH team who came to our warehouse to get the donation. They received the donation and unfortunately there were clashes close to our warehouse and there was aerial bombarding and it was very close and we had to seek shelter and try to postpone the movement until everything was clear. Then we gave a donation to one hospital in Khartoum. It's called the Turkish hospital. This hospital has been one of the hospitals – following the closure of many of the hospitals close to the frontline – has been one of the hospitals receiving civilians and wounded patients as the health system is collapsing and many hospitals are going out or went out of service. This hospital remains one of those in the south of central Khartoum, [that is] open with minimum capacity, trying to give services to the wounded people. That's why, as MSF, we choose to support a hospital, and it's not the first time. This is our third donation that we have given to different hospitals. Prior to that, we gave a donation to an advanced post in Mamoura area and also another support was given to another hospital called Bashire Hospital. So we continue being committed to stand hand by hand with the MoH and the Sudanese population during this difficult situation. Accepting the risks that we are taking to make sure that also we save some lives in this chaotic situation."
