MSF Luxembourg held its General Assembly on Saturday 17 May 2025, both in person in Luxembourg and online. The day brought together many members and supporters around a rich and varied programme, encouraging exchanges and strengthening our collective commitment. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all those who contributed to the success of this event through their presence and their contributions.

The meeting began with the presentation of the official reports: the annual report, the financial report and the discharge of the Board were all approved. These essential steps preceded the elections, the key moments that marked the launch of a series of lively presentations. The discussions focused on major issues for MSF, such as the evolution of the movement, care for victims of sexual violence, the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, and the challenges of humanitarian funding.

These exchanges provided a clearer picture of the issues facing MSF today and fuelled stimulating discussions rooted in the reality of our work and the challenges we share across the movement.

Throughout the day, several experts shared their analyses and perspectives. Among them, Dr Engy Ali, President of MSF Luxembourg, Sophie Weidenbach, Transformational Portfolio Lead, at MSF International, and Paul Yon, Director of Communications in MSF WaCA, presented the evolution of the MSF movement.

Discussions on the care of victims of sexual violence provided an opportunity to take stock of the progress made and the continuing challenges, thanks to contributions from Wilma Van Den Boogaard, Operational Research Advisor at LuxOR (MSF Luxembourg), and Claire Reading Zombo, Sexual and Reproductive Health Advisor at MSF Belgium.

Another highlight of the day was devoted to antimicrobial resistance, considered to be one of the major threats to global health. Dr Amrish Baidjoe, Director of LuxOR, Dr Shehezady Charfudine Cruz, Pilar Garcia-Vello, and Bruno González Zorn presented the advances and prospects of operational research in this field.
