La Grande Expo – An immersion into the heart of the humanitarian emergency
Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg invites you to discover "La Grande Expo", an immersive exhibition which will take the Luxembourg public to the heart of humanitarian crises around the world. From 17 to 29 March 2026 at the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster, open yourself up to an experience unparalleled elsewhere in Luxembourg City and explore the everyday life of MSF’s teams on the ground.
For the first time in Luxembourg, this travelling exhibition will authentically present how MSF carries out its medical and logistical work of providing access to medicines, coping with migration and organising treatment areas for victims of malnutrition and of epidemics. Thanks to the life-sized presentational framework, you will experience at first hand, as it were, the challenges involved in humanitarian work and be invited to think about vital questions: where can drinking water be obtained in a disaster area? How do we take care of children suffering from malnutrition? How do we work in refugee camps? And how can such diseases as Ebola or cholera be tackled?

A learning experience for all

Admission to "La Grande Expo" is free and is suitable for all: the general public, donors, school pupils and teachers. Visitors will be guided by staff with experience of working in disaster areas, who will tell their stories and talk about their successes and the difficulties they have encountered when dealing with emergencies. Special immersive educational sessions will be organised for pupils and teachers concerning the management of humanitarian crises, providing a practical tool which can communicate realities vividly and educate children towards solidarity.
For the youngest visitors, many tools will be made available: a colouring book with games, illustrating a migration journey, a model MSF ambulance to be assembled by folding it, personalised badges which will be created to serve as souvenirs from the exhibition, etc., as well as activities involving play and communicating information, which can bring the humanitarian experience home to the whole family.
What awaits you:
- Sensory immersion in the everyday experience of MSF’s work around the world.
- Direct exchanges with professionals working in humanitarian emergency aid.
- Teaching materials and interactive workshops for teachers and pupils.
- Awareness, as a citizen, of global issues relating to health and solidarity.
Come and see, feel and understand what is involved in responding to emergencies. Here, actions inspired by a sense of solidarity take on concrete form: care is provided, lives are saved and there are human stories to be told.
Do not miss this human, participatory experience, which will take you to the heart of humanitarian action and reveal the real impact of commitment based on a sense of solidarity.
