What does Médecins Sans Frontières do?

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is one of the world's leading international medical humanitarian organisations. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflicts, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare in 74 countries. Our section has been present in Luxembourg since 1986 to raise awareness among the Luxembourgish population about humanitarian issues.

3 reasons to support MSF:

Neutrality

Médecins Sans Frontières acts in a spirit of neutrality and does not take sides in armed conflicts. We treat everyone without distinction.

As a witness, MSF may, however, be called upon to denounce situations and carry out advocacy actions.

Help us preserve our neutrality

We don't ask his about his past, thanks to you we offer hi a future
We don't ask her who she prays for, thanks to you we help her give life

Impartiality

Impartiality is the foundation of Médecins Sans Frontières' mission. It distributes aid without discrimination, giving priority to those most immediately in danger.

Impartiality is defined by the principles of non-discrimination and proportionality:

- non-discrimination based on political affiliation, race, religion, gender, or any other similar criteria;

- proportionality of assistance in relation to the intensity of needs. MSF's actions are directed primarily toward those who are most seriously and immediately at risk.

Help us preserve our impartiality

Independence

In June 2016, MSF decided to no longer accept funding from the European Union and its member states, in opposition to their harmful deterrence policies towards refugees and migrants and their increasing attempts to push people and their suffering away from European shores. This decision took effect immediately and applies to our projects worldwide.

Today, in order to carry out our mission, we take care to remain completely independent from all political, economic, military, or religious powers. More than 98% of our funding comes from private sources, which allows us to decide what kind of aid we want to provide.

Help us preserve our independence
