Approach & Values

Since 2009, LuxOR has conducted and contributed to numerous studies, leveraging its expertise in Operational Research (OR) and promoting innovation as well as the expansion of OR in the field, notably by developing research agendas. In collaboration with the OR Committee of MSF’s Operational Centre in Brussels and with the support of the Ethics Review Board, we ensure that all research conducted is guided by our core values.

These values shape our approach to OR and enable us to make a meaningful impact through ethical and rigorous research practices.

Relevance: We prioritize OR efforts that directly address MSF’s operational needs in the field, ensuring alignment with MSF strategies and responsiveness to community needs.

Ethics: Adhering to the highest ethical standards is fundamental. Our OR activities strictly comply with international ethical guidelines, including those of national Ethics Committees and MSF’s Ethics Review Board.

Transparency: We act with transparency at every stage of our OR projects. From design to implementation, we ensure clarity in processes and openly share results with stakeholders.

Accountability: We take ownership of our actions and responsibilities. We are committed to serving communities with integrity, respecting applicable frameworks, and disseminating research findings responsibly.

Scientific Rigor: Our OR activities are defined by scientific quality. We apply rigorous methodologies and analyses, ensuring study designs that are scientifically valid and reproducible.
